National CooperativeRx is pleased to welcome Katy O’Malia to our team! Katy is one of our sales and account associates (SAA), a position that helps build and maintain strong member and partner relationships. As a SAA, Katy will closely support strategic account executives, identifying opportunities to help members manage their pharmacy benefit plans and providing customer service. Additionally, she will assist our sales team in coordinating and compiling information, reports, and data to support our growth initiatives.
Katy is from Carmel, Indiana. She attended Purdue University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. After working as a Kindergarten teacher for many years, Katy decided to pursue a career in the corporate world. She began working in short-term and long-term disability insurance, where she became familiar with the employee benefits industry and provided administrative support to insurance agents. Katy then transitioned into a more customer-facing role in property and auto insurance.
As a claims representative, Katy was the first point of contact when there was damage to a home or vehicle. While many of her calls were from customers with heightened emotions, Katy kept her composure and approached intense situations with assurance. She collaborated with field adjusters and helped provide a sense of relief to customers, guiding them through the process. During this time, she became well-versed in managing and reviewing claims.
From Katy’s first interaction with the National CooperativeRx team, she felt a great emphasis on customer service. She stated, “Growing up around my grandpa’s grocery stores, I learned the value of customer service and maintaining long-lasting relationships. While talking to the team, I could tell National CooperativeRx is deeply rooted in supporting its members and it corresponds with the Cooperative’s growth and accomplishments. I am excited to be a part of an organization that shows so much continued potential for success.”
Katy currently resides in Oregon, Wisconsin, with her daughter, Stella. She enjoys playing golf when the Wisconsin weather allows her to, and she is eager to try out more courses around the Madison area this year. When she is not on the golf course, Katy spends her free time watching her daughter’s dance competitions and catching up on TV shows such as Severance, Mad Men, and Saturday Night Live.
Welcome to the National CooperativeRx team, Katy!
