We Demonstrate
Our 2021 Webinar Series: In these current times of masks and social distancing, it is more important than ever to find ways to connect with our members and partners. This year, we are demonstrating how important our members are by bringing educational opportunities right to their computer screens. We planned a quarterly series of webinars that will feature a Cooperative staff member presenting a hot industry topic. Wayne Salverda, our Senior Director of Clinical Services, kicked off our first installment on copay card programs, alternative procurement, and funding earlier this week to an engaging audience. We Verify
Our Innovative Clinical Programs: The Cooperative’s suite of clinical program offerings developed by our experienced on-staff pharmacists aim to improve bottom-line costs for members and participants while providing high-value outcomes. Our Clinical Innovations are proof that we provide an experience above and beyond our contractual agreements:
Advanced Criteria Updates — We have implemented our opt-in program to offer members an opportunity to employ our recommendations on a quarterly basis to better adapt their plans to the rapidly changing market.
Supplemental Formulary Management Program — The goal of this program is to annually oversee the pharmacy benefit manager’s standard formulary and enhance it. We are focused on ensuring access to clinically-sound and cost-effective medication options for our members.
High-Cost Claim Review Program — Our expert clinicians monitor new claims daily over a specific dollar threshold for safety, appropriateness, and potential for lower-cost alternative prescriptions. Review of specialty medications was added in October 2020 and you can read about both programs here.
Pharmacy Network Oversight — Our expert clinical team has a pulse on claims to react swiftly to fraudulent, wasteful, or abusive behavior by a pharmacy or practitioner. This is automatically administered to all Cooperative members and saved members more than $3.5 million just in the year 2020.
We Testify
Our Virtual Annual Meeting: Every year, we report to our members and partners about the outcomes of our team’s efforts to provide transparent, high-quality, customizable pharmacy benefit plans. This year is no different as we have another educational Annual Meeting planned for our audience on May 4, 2021. Block some time on your calendar to join us through Zoom as we hear from keynote speakers Elizabeth Nugent (University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health/UW) and John Barlament (Quarles & Brady, LLP). They will highlight recent developments regarding COVID-19 treatment and the latest federal health care policy changes. Look for the official invite in your email inbox next month.
We Won’t Stop Proving Our Love for Our Members
As society becomes better equipped to fight the pandemic, we are eager to get back on the road forging new relationships as well as reconnecting with our existing ones. We value the face-to-face connection with our members (and partners too!) and look forward to safely meeting again soon. In the meantime, rest assured National CooperativeRx is constantly working on our members’ behalf to support the pharmacy benefits of more than 370,000 lives.
After all, our members really are the ‘heart’ of everything we do!
