Amanda Wallisch: Administrative Assistant

Staff Profile: Amanda Wallisch

Please welcome Amanda Wallisch, to National CooperativeRx! Amanda works closely with the director of operations to ensure company procedures and the office run smoothly.

Originally from Grinnell, Iowa, Amanda attended Beloit College and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology. She began her career path in the administrative sector at an insurance company for five years, before embarking on a very different one — a stay-at-home mom to her daughter and son. “I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to stay at home with my children,” Amanda says.

After her children entered middle school, Amanda reentered the work force as a business coordinator at a chiropractic clinic, where she worked for six years. While she enjoyed her job, a position relocation encouraged Amanda to pursue other opportunities.

“What initially attracted me to this particular position was the benefits aspect which is similar to my previous background,” Amanda says. “I was also looking for more growth opportunities that could develop from my current job.”

Although she has only been on our team for two weeks, Amanda already feels like a staple at the Cooperative. “Currently, my focus is learning the complicated industry and how our company fits in the pharmaceutical puzzle,” Amanda states. “My favorite thing about my new role is the positive office environment and wonderful staff.”

If Amanda wasn’t in the administrative field, her dream job would be creating museum exhibits. “I would love to use my college degree and write the educational displays for each exhibit to help people understand what they’re viewing and piece everything together,” Amanda says. Her favorite museums are the Smithsonian and the Field Museum in Chicago. She also enjoys visiting the Oregon Area Historical Society, where she volunteers.

When Amanda is away from her desk, she enjoys touring museums, gardening, hiking and kayaking in her backyard (yes, you read that correctly)!
